School Lunch

A healthy, well balanced meal is necessary for optimal performance. There is an art to providing meals that appeal to  students but also make parents happy. We believe we’ve met the challenge.

BIA meals follow state and federal child nutrition guidelines and take the burden of food off of parents and families. Our breakfast and lunch are delivered or prepared on site daily by a third party so that food is always fresh, never microwaved.

Lunches at BIA

BIA students have the option of bringing a lunch from home (BIA is a nut-free school, so no nuts please) or obtaining a lunch from our onsite lunch partner, SLA Management.  Due to staff, safety, and Federal guidelines food deliveries for student lunches are prohibited.

BIA is pleased to announce that will be using SLA Management as our food service provider, preparing and serving both lunch and breakfast on site. SLA is a leading provider of K–12 school food services, delivering tailored meals, kitchen solutions, and program management to the unique needs of charter and private schools. With a custom approach that prioritizes personalization, we are more than a food vendor — we are helping shape the future of school dining.

We are pleased to announce that we will be utilizing MyPaymentsPlus for cafeteria purchases, as well as all other school fees.

Standard Meal Costs
Student Lunch – $4.75
Student Lunch (Approved Reduced Participants) – $0.40
Student Breakfast – $2.75
Student Breakfast (Approved Reduced Participants) – $0.30
Adult Lunch – $5.00
Adult Breakfast – $3.00
A la carte Milk or an additional Milk – $0.50
A la carte items, such as pizza or desserts, are an additional charge and NOT a part of the STANDARD meals.
Free and reduced lunch participant accounts will be automatically funded accordingly for STANDARD Meals.  Please note that additional portions, upgrades, or additional offerings are extra and will be billed to student accounts and are the responsibility of parents, even for free and reduced students.  Please see the Free and Lunch tab for more details.
Student accounts in arrears will be suspended until balances are paid.  Student access to the cafeteria may be limited if the account is in arrears for more than $25.

School Menu’s
Breakfast is offered in the cafeteria from 7:15am – 7:40am each school day.
Students have 30 min. lunch periods which are scheduled mid-day to enjoy their lunches.

Free and Reduced Meals

As a Georgia public school, BIA offers free and reduced meals as part of our federally funded programming.  Students wishing to apply should complete the linked applications (English and Spanish) and forward to FRAM@biaschool.org.

One application per household must be completed annually at the beginning of each school year.  One application may be used for all students attending BIA.  All applications must include one of the following:

  1. A Federal or Georgia Case No. ( SNAP, TANF, or FDPIR case no.) OR
  2. Verification of income (a copy of two of your most recent pay stubs, your most recent Federal Tax Return, or W-2 form)

Once applications have been processed a letter will be sent to the parent or guardian applicant with the eligibility status.  Students that are approved participants will be eligible to receive a standard free or reduced-price meal for each meal window offered per day.  Please note:  upgrades or additional portions (this includes additional slices of pizza), additional or upgraded beverages, snacks, and other add-ons will be billed to the student account and are the responsibility of parents.
